Welcome to speedie's personal website 😀
I am a minimal and free software enthusiast and activist. I try to make the Internet and software better.
I enjoy writing blog posts and guides about free software to help the average person get into freedom, privacy and good software worth using!

My Gentoo GNU/Linux overlay. Most ebuilds are forks of original software or my software.
This page contains a list of all my blog posts. They can also be viewed using the RSS feed but I also uploaded them to the website for convenience.
This page contains a list of all my guides. They are usually about GNU/Linux software but I write about what I find interesting. These will not be posted to the RSS feed.
A list of all my projects I've worked on. Some may not be listed.
All my configs/dotfiles for software I use. All of it is free to use under the specified license. If none is specified, follow the license of the original software.
Forwarder Factory is a Nintendo Wii preservation team started by me.
Here are a few projects I've worked on along with a short description.
(free means free as in freedom, non-free means I cannot meet all requirements necessary to consider it free software)
Modification of Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger which runs on Early 2008 Apple Macs. Non-free although my code is free. (non-free)
Microsoft Windows 10/11 debloater tool which cleans up spyware, tracking and bloatware that Windows comes with. (free, runs on proprietary OS)
Minimal and simple rautafarmi client written in Bash that follows the suckless philosophy and supports the new, improved, faster rautafarmi JSON API. It is the successor to rchat. (free)
Deprecated minimal and simple rautafarmi client written in Bash that follows the suckless philosophy. I recommend using iron unless your instance doesn't support the new API. (free)
"MagmaBoar is a privacy and freedom respecting Mozilla Firefox profile that completely removes all non-free software through the use of LibreJS. (free)
"speedie's Desktop Environment" or "spDE" is a set of POSIX shell scripts to automatically install my dotfiles on Gentoo, Arch, Void, Debian or Red Hat. (free)
Customizable, minimal and modular xsetroot bar designed to be used with window managers that use xsetroot -name for displaying information. (free)
The rest of my dmenu scripts. There is some good stuff there that I recommend. (free)
List of all my dotfiles necessary to reproduce my setup.
If my efforts to support freedom and minimal software helped you out, consider donating.
Otherwise, please share some of my blog posts.
